What size Halo serving for a string made from Dynaflight 97?
« on: August 03, 2010, 08:36:00 PM »
What size Halo serving would I need for strings made from Dynaflight 97. I would be making some flemish and endless strings for bows around 50-55 lbs. Will be using wood shafts with index nocks. Thanks, Don

It all depends on how many strands of D97 you use and which brand of nocks you use.  Figure that out first.  I use Diamondback serving which lays down flatter than the Halo, so I'd mostly be guessing.

I guess I'll go with .024 and hope for the best. Don

Don,
With .024 it will need to be a 14 strand (maybe more) string with D97 to fit the nocks on carbons.
I use D97 in my strings 12 to 14 strands and .030 Halo.  Seems to fit the GT nocks well.
You can also pad the serving area. I don't care for the fit or finish when I tried padding in the center of the string.
