Oklahoma traditional club?
« on: February 07, 2008, 01:21:00 PM »
I am looking for any clubs here in Oklahoma that would have access to information in regards to organized 3D shoots.  I am from Seminole.  Anyone out there?  [email protected]

Hey Carparcher, I am from okc and wondering the same thing. Check out the post by OKCTradguy in the Trad Events forum. I was going to take my son and check it out tomorrow, but witht he weather forcast like it is I think I will pass. I have never been to a shoot and thought it might be fun. I think OKCTradguy is affiliated witht he Trosper club. It would not be too far from you. Close to Del City. I am hoping for another chance in the future.

I don't know of any formal clubs at this point. 3D shoots often take place near Cushing, and there has been an informal gathering of tradgang memberrs from NE Oklahoma. In March there will be OJAM, probably held near Ripley, SE of Stillwater. Look in the events section of Tradgang. I'll try to find 3D information and post it for you. I live in Pawnee Co., about 20 miles E. of Stillwater.

You might check out OJAM in the events section.  I heard there is also going to be a 3D shoot there.

Goldfinger, I checked it out and am optomistic.  I have only been to one organized shoot and I am hooked.  It's a blast.  Maybe I'll see ya out there some time.

Are you going this weekend? I was going too, but not sure of paying good money to shoot in the Ice, rain or sleet or whatever we are supposed to get. Not even sure they are still having it. I exchanged some private messages with OKCTradguy and he said the website is not update that frquently so I would not rely on that. If you are planning on going, PM me and I will give you his cell phone number to call and make sure it is still happening. I hate to post it without his permission.

Is the OJAM strickly a self-bow event?  I am still trying to master this recurve thing, and not at that point in my bowhunting career yet!  Sounds like fun regardless.  Might have to check that one out.

Thanks for those directions, Lost Arra. I'm going to try to make it to that shoot. Want to shoot tomorrow at Trosper, but am unsure of the weather situation.

Don't forget about Muddy Creek, either. That guy is wanting to host some trad shoots, but didn't want to book a shoot on a weekend that already had another shoot going somewhere else.

Woodward will have a shoot the 3rd weekend each month thru Sept.
Leedy has a shoot the 2nd weekend each month with the one in April being a traditional only on the 12th & 13th.
Hope to see you all there.

Here is the best place i have found that list several of the 3 D shoots.  http://www.bowsite.com/bowsite/3dshoots/Results1.cfm?state=OK  You can also find a list at the different archery stores....Oklahoma Archery off of Grand and I-35 and Tabes which is in Shawnee.

and you should realy try the indoor AIS system at Tabes (the only one that has one now as far as i know) where you stand at 20 yards and shoot at live projections on a kevlar screen with blunts...if you think the #-D shoots are addicting just wait until you try this!
