Spray Hood building in process
« on: November 22, 2010, 09:17:00 PM »
I started building a spray hood in my basement so I could spray bows year round. This is vented out side thru a basement window. I work in a lab and got the top from work. I took all the dimensions from a 4 foot hood and copied and modified the duct work.

I used 8" duct for the intake and out. I have a squirrel cage on the right side in a sealed box. The motor is on the outside of the main chamber and a belt passes through a barrier so I will be seperate from any fumes (explosion proof).
I plan on mounting a light in the top sealed from the hood area, again (explosion proof).
I'll post more photo's as I go.

I can kinda tell that it is about 5' wide or wider from the ceiling tiles, but what was the final width you went with?

Update
The hood is finished for the most part and works very well. I did a test run with it last night spraying lacquer thinner. I'll post pics after church.
