Hey I have been making self bows for a while now and am going to try my first osage core hickory backing laminate and wanted to know how I should put it togeather? I wanted to make a reflex deflex or a recurve style bow. How should I got about doing this?

I'll start and I'm sure others will add to this.

When building a laminated r/d bow you need to use a form to put the r/d in the bow.I also pre taper my belly core which makes glue up easier.
Dean torges gives great step by step instructions on how to do this in his DVD Hunting the bamboo backed bow,you may also find info on his web site.

Would I need a hotbox for TB3?

No you dont need a hot box with tb3. Temperature does need to be above 50 degrees or so. I glue mine and let em set 3-4 days. Probably doesnt really take that long for the glue to set up. But I figure better to be on the safe side.

I just put up some pictures of a simple form that will allow you to glue up reflex or reflex/deflex.

Thanxs 7s your pictures helped me out alot. What do you guys think would be a faster/better bow? an osage core backed with hickory or bamboo?

I would start with a hickory backed/osage core.
Seeing this is your first r/d bow it will make  it easier and when you gain experience try bamboo.
Properly using Bamboo is another step and requires a learning curve to do it right.
In my opinion it would be hard to out perform a well built bamboo backed/osage core bow at least that has been my experience.
