If the R/H in your area is low leave it longer. I usually give a bow 3 or 4 days at least before I stress it after tempering. Hickory, unlike most other bow woods can survive with it's M/C as low as 5% to 6% and probably preforms best at that M/C. I would still give hickory a few days to rehydrate after tempering. Why take the chance of it breaking.
