The following photos are of the Tru Oil being applied over several applications. I buffed with 0000 steel wool in between applications.

I have been having an issue with getting good coverage with the Tru Oil on the limbs. I sanded the glass and wiped it with acetone. After the Tru Oil has dried and I buff it with 0000 steel wool the finish is uneven. Any suggestions?

I shot the bow last night with a brace height of about 7 inches. It has a little hand shock, but with some fine tuning I am sure it will go away. The bow came out to 54 lbs at 28 inches. My draw is about 30 inches so it should put the smack down on an elk if I get a shot.

Here are pictures of the finished bow with 2 coats of spare urethane. I will eventually dull the finish for hunting.

Once I receive a bow bolt I will include the installation in this build along. I read several negative post concerning problems with retrofitting bows with the bow bolt. I called maker to get his input. The maker stated that the problems are caused by not following the instructions and insured me that if I follow the instruction that would not have any problems.

I installed a bow bolt on a Martin/Howatt Bushmaster just 3 weeks ago. It was my first retrofit of any takedown system in a longbow. I talked to Craig Warren on the phone when I was thinking about ordering one, and I felt confident that I could tackle the project. Fast forward 3 weeks, and I have a 2 piece Bushmaster that I've loosed about 1000 arrows from. It feels and shoots the same. It's just easier to transport. Beautiful bow, Recurvericky. I look forward to seeing your installation.
