I had the same thing happen on a Toelke Chinook.  The finish "blistered" in one spot.  It was easily sanded out and refinished never happened again after that.

I have fixed spots like that, you have to sand past the spot and then feather out the sanding to a light sanding.When you spray it will cover and be fine.More work in feathering it out than anything.Then after it drys polish with 0000 steelwool,polish with a liquied car polish and you wont even know where it was.

As you said this bow is out of warranty but it is admirable and good business that you took care of the problem, buddy or no buddy. You are the kind of guy I would like to do business with.

finish peeling up, I had some do that 20 yrs. ago with fullerplast,The stuff just don't stay on glass, Thunderbird will fix the problem
