I need a new grip "look"
« on: February 20, 2011, 10:56:00 AM »
Anybody want to share close-up grip pics? I would like to see various ways to attach the leather, glue, sinew, thread. Im starting to grow tired of a basic stitched on grip and would like to change things up on a few bows. Thanks for sharing.

All kidding aside Chris, I am almost done with the BBO Bow I am working on. I will post pictures of the rest and leather grip as I go along. To be honest here, when making a BBO bow, or any wooden bow, you want to keep it simple. Well simple was a bad choice of words I guess. I'm trying to say, that a wooden bow look's cooler, when you put a more traditional rest on it. Like a glue on leather rest, however ya make it. Yes I made maybe two BBO bow's where I cut in a shelf. It looked so out of place if ya know what I mean, that I decided not to do that again.

I kinda like the way Bear did the leather wraps, sorry but I don't have any pictures. It looks real classy and I haven't seen any bowyers around here doing it.
