Question on glass and Fast Flight. BOWYERS ????
« on: February 21, 2011, 08:14:00 AM »
I was wanting to ask about putting glass on tip overlays to make a bow FF compatable.
In the past I have used a piece of glass roughly .080 and a piece or 2 of wood for tip overlays.
I have used FF on these bows with no problem.
I am building a new bow for myself again and wondered if I used a piece of .030 glass instead, would it be enough to handle the FF?
I didn't know how much the thinner glass would do? Thanks Steve

Also, In your opinion, what else does or does not make a bow FF compatable besides the glass, or antler tips

The amount of glass you use (if you use it at all) really isn't the issue.  It's the shape of the grooves that's the key.  It should be a tear drop with no ridges - including the transition to the belly!
