Karpowicz's book will give you a lot of information on the building of this type of bow.
Can't go wrong with the book, even if you don't plan on building a composite bow.

I agree. I have Karpowicz's book and am reading and rereading it trying to get it all to sink in. This book is probably the best you can get on the sunject.
