Has anyone used Balsa wood for a laminated glass bow? I have a piece 3"X3"X6'. The post on foam cores got me to thinking, this might work. What do you guys think?

balsa wood is too weak.
I compresses like marshmallows and would most likely shear all to hell in a glass bow.

As an experiment, I say try it. You may need to have a thin parallel veneer and then the balsa. The amount of work the core is doing falls of geometrically as you move in from the surface. The glass is doing most of the work in a FG bow.

Nope, Twernt me. However I do know someone that did. But he will have to tell that story. It didn/t work was the end result. LOL In a rather radical fashion.
God bless you all, Steve
