2 piece take-down?
« on: July 17, 2011, 02:41:00 PM »
My son and I just got back from MOJAM, and had a great time.  Ok, now i need a little help.  I picked up a very nice set of billets and while i wait for my take down sleeve, i am trying to come up with a rough layout for this bow.  I am shooting for a 62-64 bow at about 55 pounds @ 28. I will heat in a little flip to the tips. When doing a 2 piece, is the length of the take down sleeve counted as the 4" handle?  Also, will this layout for the most part the same as a one piece would?  ( 4" handle, 1 1/2" - 2" fades, 1 1/2" wide limbs to mid limb then to 3/8" tips) Any help or direction will be helpful. I looked through some of the build alongs but need to be sure before i get started.  Thanks for any help.

When you order a takedown bowsleeve, make sure it come with two brass innersleeves with the steel sleeve. There is an entire bow build of my two piece bow build.  http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=125;t=003411#000000

Broketooth made one of the baddest bows i've ever seen or shot from that thread. I know cause I have it! I can't help you much to answer questions, but if you do what he did, you'll be very pleased.
