Converted a Horne Riser to ILF tonight!
« on: July 24, 2011, 09:34:00 PM »
I have a buddy on here, Eric 101, whose Horne Ridegrunner limb delaminated. Older, used bow when he got it, had seen rough use. He had some ILF limbs, I ordered a set of ILF adapters, set the riser up in my milling machine I use for gunsmithing, and in about 20 minutes, had the inserts ready to screw in/epoxy in the handle. I used the existing limb bolt and the angle is nearly the same as his TT Pinnacle. I have converted several old compound risers to ILF, and some to just takedown recurves to help get my 4H kids into recurves, for cheap. I will be keeping my eyes open for risers missing limbs now, easy way to get an ILF riser. I also have a next door neighbor who is a cabinet maker, uses Kiln dried hardwood for his cabinets, I believe I will laminate one up for myself, and see how it comes out. I will get someone to help me post pic in a day or two.

Hey little buddy.  Get some pics on here so I can see some more stuff youve made.  You should have got your hindend down to the IBO shoot.  I would have enjoyed shooting with ya man.  Teach me a thing or two about how to shoot.  Did Eric get his Pinnacle straightened out??  The last time I talked to him he was having a fit with it.  Anyway ol buddy holler at me later or something.  Get some pictures of this Horne your talking about.  Glad you found a use for it.
