Do you guys use Denatured Alcohol or Acetone to prep lams cut from oily woods such as Bocote or Cocobolo?

You'll get different opinions on this one. Some guys say to do it, some guys say it just brings more oil to the surface.
I haven't used any oily woods like bacote and cocobola for lams, but have used both for longbow risers. I did wipe them down good with acetone, had good glue ups, and they've held together so far.
