limb vibration-need help
« on: August 22, 2011, 12:56:00 PM »
hello all,

i recently completed a t/d recurve that is 60" and came in light at around 40-42# or so.

the bow shoots great except there seems to be quite a bit of vibration at the shot which makes the bow noisy. its not handshock but the limbs seem to "bounce" alot and don't seem as solid as my other bows.

does the light poundage cause problems with the stabilty (i can move the limbs with just my hands) or is it a tillering/tuning issue?? would a different string or silencer placement help?? right now i have an SBD string on it.

thanks in advance,

mike

I have found that tiller or a incorrect brace height can cause those types of problems.  Is it a Binghams design or other?

thanks jess. it is a binghams design for the most part w/ some slight modifications.

my bingham bows like a little higher brace than my other bows. they seem to have less vib when i increase brace.

Yep on the tiller, can you trace it on paper braced and full draw and flip the bow end for end to see how the limbs look against each other?
Stay sharp, Kenny.
