Short answer - Yes
The problem is that little differences in shape change what stack thickness gets you to a certain weight, how the bow shoots, if the string stays off the limb at brace, etc, etc.
I think a great option would be getting a template and recipe from KennyM. Its not expensive and chances are your first bow will be a keeper instead of having to build 2-3 to get the weight and shape tweeked. It took me 3 forms and 4 bows to get my first design "right".
