« on: September 03, 2011, 04:27:00 PM »
Im looking for some exotic lumber...

The local hardwood supply has some bubinga, bocote, and zebrawood but it isnt as figured as I would like....

Does anyone have a good source for mail order figured exotic wood?

Also,  Cant seem to find some figured juniper in my parts.  Any sources on that?

Thanks guys

Bocote is pretty figured, I've never seen an "unfigured" piece.  Zebrawood is not very figured at all, just the contrasting lines.

If you order blindly though a catalog or online, without you handling and choosing the wood, you'll get whatever is handy for them to ship you.  The piece you get may or may not be any more figured that the ones you have access to already.

I just bought some wood from this guy when I asked basically the same question recently. I am very please with dealing with him and would highly recommend you contact him.
