pau fero, fumed etimoe..9 days to hunting season

glued up riser last night, shaped riser today after work, gonna cut etimoe veneers out of this piece tonite..

don't think i'll use the etimoe..the wood is a lot darker than the pic I got from the vendor, I wish it looked like the picture.   I cut it to size, then took a scrap piece and wiped it with denatured alcohol and it turned really dark..soooo I'll have to get into my "santos rosewood" stash or something else interesting?? update.. I'm either gonna use macassa ebony or the brown "waterfall" bubinga veneer, this pic has the etimoe, bubinga and ebony.

Robert this is just my opinion but I think the Bub would look better with the dark riser to kind of throw some contrast.  But that Ebony looks fantastic.

I have used some veneers from same boards in other bows pictured here. I think your right..I better hide all the other veneers and just use the bubinga..
