I was just reading Tenbrooks' thread about the lam thicknesses for a hickory backed tri lam and it made me think of a couple of questions so I thought I'd better start a new thread rather than hijack that one.
When I built my bows I used a 1/8" back and 1/8" belly and I made the mid lam 5/16" tapered to 1/16". Should I have made the belly lam the thicker one or is what I did ok? My bows worked out ok, but if there's a proper way to do things I'd rather learn the right way.
Also, one of my bows came in uderweight while the second bow was right on target (more luck than anything else). The light bow kept most of the reflex I glued in while the other one lost most of it's reflex. Is that because of something I did or failed to do?
