Thinking of a Hill style all wood, questions
« on: September 26, 2011, 09:19:00 AM »
After seeing that beautiful bow that Tracy made replicating a Schulz, I'm thinking that I've got to try one.  I've got a couple questions.

1) I've still got a bunch of bamboo for backings, how thin do I make it?

2) If I go with an all bamboo bow, like a Miller, how many lams to use for a 68" 45-50# bow?  Tapered lams? Where to buy?

3) I've got some Osage billets that I could use.  I see on Tracy's post that he used 5/8th thick lams, do I taper these prior to glue up?

4) What glue? I've got Smooth-On.

Looking for all the help that I can get with this project, thanks.
