Shooting my longbow this afternoon, getting some practice when it went bang. It broke at the upper limb knock as I came to full draw. No injuries, thankfully and no damage to the house (only a small hole in the drywall from the arrow). It took some looking to find the arrow though. It was lodged in the wall 3 feet above the target. This bow has had at least a couple hundred arrows through it.
It seems I made the tips a bit too thin at the knocks. I wonder if I can fix it by shortening the bow and beefing up the tips?
Dave.
