fiberglass repair
« on: February 22, 2012, 09:49:00 PM »
What is the best way to repair a crack in fiberglass? I have a Shakespeare cascade that has 3 cracks in the fiberglass. 2 on the lower limb and one coming of the corner of the shelf going down the riser.  They do not appear to be very deep but I can feel them with my fingernail.   They run lengthwise with the bow.  I was thinking superglue but would like some input from the experienced.
Thanks.    James

Woodcraft stores sells the "CA" type glues that would be perfect for what you would like to do. Just be sure to purchase the water type variety. It flows like water, and dries in 5 seconds. Do not clamp anything if its close together.
"CA" type glues should be available in other stores also.       John
