Red osier dogwood
« on: April 22, 2012, 12:42:00 AM »
I'm planning to try a bow from red osier dogwood. The biggest I can find around here is about 1 1/8" diameter so I thought I'd work the limbs down to the centre, leave the handle round and strap it to a board to dry. I'll seal the ends, but I'm not sure about peeling it.
Has anyone tried this, and if so, what is your advice about peeling? Also, how much bow do you think I'll get out of it?    Rob
Don't know how I got here and don't know where i'm going, but life is grand.
