glass storage?

Its my understanding correct me if im wrong but glass backing is shipped rolled up?At least thats what ive gathered form others post's on here.Should you store it rolled up,or unrolled laying flat?Or does it matter?Just curious.Thanks, Scott

I am not sure it matters, but I always store my glass flat.  For all my lams, I get the 4 inch white (with holes in in) drainage tubing from lowes, glue on a back cap and put a nob on the front cap and keep all my lams in there.

Because I have limited storage space,  I tie a short rope to the back of the storage pipe and then screw that rope into the wall, a longer rope on the front of it and srew it to the wall....then when I need a lam I can just swing that pipe out, pull the cap off and grab one out.

I store it all flat,,but ship some coiled. Gordon glass should unwind after shipping, but I wouldn't leave rolled for long periods.

Have heard of some other glass that shipped coiled, ends stayed up off the bench when unrolled!

I wrap mine in "Butchers Paper" write size, number of pieces, color and thickness on the paper, then slide them into a cardboard carpet tube, then stand up in a corner..the paper keeps the dust off the glass, all my shelves are full of wood so its a corner for now..now if i had a big awesome shop like Kenny's then I would have more shelves..

Robert Butchers paper marked with size and count is a good idea.
