Well guys I had a chance to go by my local archery shop today at lunch and shoot a few different arrows through the chrono and recheck my poundage on his digital scale. Here goes:
Previous weight on spring scale 58#
Weight as measured today digital scale 60#
All these numbers were done with a 16 strand Laser brand string, wool puffs in the pics, 28" draw with finger release. average 10 shots per arrow throwing out the high and low.
I choose to test this way instead of a release aid, a 10-12 strand string, and no silencers bc this is the way I hunt. The bow will be set up like this for hunting season.
Here goes:
520gr (8.6gpp) = 178 fps
550gr (9.2gpp) = 174 fps
580gr (9.7gpp) = 173 fps
690gr (11.5gpp)= 160 fps
I did not have time on lunch hour to get a complete force draw curve, but I did get weights at 26,27,28,29,30"
26" = 55.5
27" = 58
28" = 60
29" = 63
30" = 65
I was really pleased with those draw numbers and justified my belief in no stacking when I shoot it. Slightly disappointed in the arrow speed, as I was hoping to break 180 fps with 9.5 gpp but I'll take 12-13fps decrease jumping more than 100gr in arrow weight with a better point on for me hunting any day.
I will enjoy shooting it this season for sure. Enjoy!
