Another Arrow Finish Question
« on: May 24, 2012, 11:30:00 AM »
Assuming that I put 3 coats of rub-on-poly over stain on my POC shafts and let it dry, then use Testors for cresting, can I use a couple coats of spray-on poly as a final finish? Can I just use spray Krylon or the like to cap them before cresting? I'm wondering if this stuff is compatible.
I ask because I have all these items on hand and would like to use what I have. The arrows will be used for target and stumping only.

Thanks for the help!!

You can. I always dipped/wiped two coats. Crested and then one more coat.

It is often hard to know about compatibilities without trial unfortunately, and sometimes problems can be overcome by simply extending dry times. Try a couple and see what happens.
