One piece riser question
« on: June 01, 2012, 11:56:00 PM »
I'm going to be attempting my first glass bow build soon & I was just wondering; Can any hardwood be used in the riser?

I'm looking on westpennhardwoods.com at some of their exotics & there are a few I particularly like, but I've never seen them used in bows before. Particularly I'm looking at the African Blackwood or Mopane.

Most any hardwood will work Rob. just try to avoid the oily ones like lignum vitate(sp),teak and others.

African blackwood is nice, alot like ebony, but a little cheaper to buy.
