Interceptors on bone?
« on: February 24, 2008, 09:43:00 PM »
Just wonderin if anyone has experience with simmon's interceptors on bone.  I've taken a few whitetails with them but haven't hit a bone yet.  I shoot heavy aluminum arrows (775 grains).  Thinking of switching to the 190 griz.  Thoughts?

I have shot through the shoulder blade with a 160 glue-on Interceptor and this past fall on the St.Jude's hunt at the Paradise I shot a bunkicker buck in the neck and dropped it in it's tracks with a 190 grain. A few years back complete penetration on Caribou , hit ribs coming and going . Several African plains game as well . I usually aim for the elbow bone when broadside as I never hit exactly where I'm aiming . Really I aim for the off side shoulder and rarely hit bone , except ribs which don't usually matter on a whitetail . My favorite heads for many years . my opinion , Fred

What am I thinking about , also on the St. Jude's hunt I broke the back of a 100 lb. hog and it dropped instantly . How could I forget that one , Fred
