long bow lams ?

Im getting geared to build a TD longbow .the longbow I have now is what Im going to pattern off of.The limbs are r/d with 5 lams ,2 glass, 3 wood.all 3 of the wood lams look tapered 1.0th per inch.but I have never heard of all 3 lams being tapered.and all running the same direction.380th at butt (wedge not included) 300th at tip.27"long.

my rd longbows (from Binghams pattern) have 2 glass 2 parallel lams and one tapered lam. Thats the standard I have grown with.

Totally normal.  Different taper rates fit different designs.  I use .004" total and it doesn't matter if I get there with two, .002" lams or four, .001" lams.

Sounds about right. My d/r likes .003 total, and one of these days I'm gonna build one about an inch wide with .004 total!

thanks for the replys Ive built some risers already and a nice heat box now its time for limb forms.my first build will be bocote with action-boo core limbs and riser made of grey superaction wood with some accents.Im going to try for 55# @ 28 62-64 "ntn.but archery season starts sept 15 so its going to have to wait.
