How much Tru Oil?

How many coats of Tru Oil do I need to put on my snake skins?

I put 5 coats on  mine. oooo steel wool between coats. Nice and smooth.

I usually use at least 4 or 5 coats, for me it depends on how porous the wood is, I keep applying coats over the skins and wood until the pores are filled and I get a nice smooth finish.  On some woods it might take as many s 10 or more coats....Dan

I'm in the 5 to 6 coat range on bows I'd guess about the Same on skins.
I put the coats on as thin as possible. I also switched recently to the scotch type pads over the steel wool.
A little cleaner as far as particles.

5-7 coats for me.  Once I get a really good shine, I call it good.  0000 steel wool between coats for me also.
