Where to buy staves
« on: September 24, 2012, 10:28:00 AM »
Hello, where do you all recommend purchasing staves from?  I've never built a bow and would like to try my hand at it. I've seen some staves on a popular auction site, but don't know what to look for in regards to quality, I'm thinking of starting with a long bow and eventually work my way to recurves, was thinking of osage for a long bow?  any tips on what to look for in quality or good recommendations on where to purchase staves? Thanks in advance!

Pine Hollow Longbows  www.pinehollowlongbows.com

They have Osage and hickory staves, I got a great osage stave from them.

If you order from Pine Hollow don't just order online. Call Mike Yancey first and let him know you are a first time bowyer and what you are wanting to build and he will help you choose the right stave. GREAT guy to talk to and very helpful. You can find his number in the "contact us" on the Pine Hollow website. And get ready for a wonderful addiction.
God Bless
