Thanks

Roadkill, The English bow is more like a Hill bow, from the pictures, i haven't shot one.
I like the Hill type bows alright, i have shot one for years.
The bows like the Baraga and Contender, are what i call modified Hill bows.
They have all the qualities of a Hill bow and some others.

I can't comment on the Liberty, but i own a Baraga and have also shot Robs (post above).
Steve is an excellent bowyer and great all around person. His bows shoot great and the Baraga does not have the handshock like other similar bows (to me).
I'll include a link to his website (if it's ok with the Mods) if not I can PM it you.

I have one for sale in the Classifieds, only because it is a few pounds too heavy for me...and I will own another one! The Baraga does have some reflex/deflex to it and is fast flight compatible.
Best of luck in your search...if you were in Michigan you'd be welcome to shoot mine for a comparsion.

Drew, Thanks for the link and the offer to shoot your bow, but we live a long way apart.
I think they are both good bows and maybe i will get to shoot both of them one day.
My problem is bow weight now, i can't shoot anything over 50# and you don't see many of this type bow under 50#.

William,
I have a Baraga that's almost identical to the one Drew's selling. They're great bows! I don't think you'll go wrong with either one.
BTW, my boy really LOVES the Treadway

I shot a 54# and a friend of mine shot a 50# Baraga this past season and each took 8 point bucks with them. They shoot very well, and with a matched arrow, will give pass throughs at the weight you are shooting. (Also came within inches of taking a running cottontail - I think I was more surprised than he.)

Can't go wrong with either one although from a previous thread I think Allen is having to close down for a short period, so if you want a Contender you better get it now! The Baraga is closer to the Liberty Chief than it is the Contender - it has a little more R/D than the Contender, but still looks like a "D" when braced. Steve's Superior is his mild R/D bow and shoots great - have another on order 50@27. Steve told me that the length of bow that you want determines whether the Baraga or Superior is the bow for you. At my 27" draw he recommended the Baraga no longer than 62" and the Superior from 62" up. I wanted a 64" this time so went with another Superior! Like I said you can't really go wrong with either and shooting them is the only way to know for sure. Good luck!

SpankyNeal, Thanks for the information, i was looking at the pics of the bow listed and it looked like a mild R/D like the Contender.
When strung you can see the D shape well in the picture.
I would like to see a picture of a Superior bow limbs unstrung, but the website dosen't show the whole bow.
Thanks William

Steelhead, The Contender bow listed is a nice looking bow.
One thing i noticed, the handle is a little longer on a Liberty, than the Baraga.
You would have to shoot both bows to tell the differnce.
Thanks

Ive got a baraga and its a great shooter witht minimum hand shock. Great bow with a slight r/d design but holds the D shape. I love it.
