Question about specs
« on: October 18, 2012, 01:45:00 PM »
Had a question for the bowyers.

I see some bows marked as #xx @ 28".  Others might be marked #xx @ 27" or #xx @ 29".

Is there any difference at all in the tiller of these bows?

I draw 27".  Will a bow marked #50 @ 27" be any different than a bow marked #56 @ 29"  when I shoot them?

Thanks
Ken Adkins

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

When your talking about glass bows I don't think it makes, any difference at all. A well designed bow will have a linear pounds per inch. They are just marked at the buyers draw length.

On wood bows it could make a difference if a bow is marked 50# @ 26 inches that is what you get. It may not have been tillered to,say 28 inches and may not be safe to draw it farther.
