Dave, keep your eyes open on the classifieds. Any of the above mentioned bows sometimes get listed at very affordable rates. Course, you gotta be there at the right time cause they don't last long...Mike

Dave, I sold a couple bows to pay for the one I have on order. Never owned one before. In fact never shot one. Kinda taken a step of faith here. I'll say this about my experience so far. I called the order in and then sent a check. I received a dvd, a catalog, and a copy of my bow order the other day. I watched the dvd and it covered all the basics on bow set up and care. Although basic info to most here it is necessary info to know. I have dealt with alot of bowyers and never had a bad experience. In fact I find the info exchange and phone conversations with bowyers sufficient to get the job done. This is an extra step that makes really makes me feel good about my decision. I'll proly have more to say after I get the bow.

Those exotics sure look good but the ironwood bow is what I ordered.

Yea, funny thing is I live in Kansas City, Missouri and I could easily drive down to Nixa and see the bows in person before I was ever to order one. Maybe someday I'll commit to a Widow but who knows, I might go totally the other direction and end up shooting selfbows eh?

One of the criticisms I've heard of BW bows over the years is that they are supposedly ugly. While it's undoubtedly true that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, the bows I'm seeing in this thread are very pleasing to my eyes. I still see a BW in my future. It's going to be an especially hard choice for me having to choose between the stunning osage and tulipwood used in the bows I'm seeing here.

Really, take a close look at some widows and see for yourself. And some of the woods they're using now...........seriously nice. I may need to order a couple more so my 8 year old can grow into them. In a few years.
