need help with bow finish

i have a bow that needs touch up on the riser ,has already been sanded. what would any one reccomend for a finish. the woods are cocobola, bamboo and brown bocate. thanks for any help.

If you dont have a spray outfit, IMO you cant beat wipe on Minwax poly. Just do multiple coats 'sanding' between coats with 0000 steel wool.

The poly won't cure on the Cocobolo or Bocote. Use Shellac unless you can spray Thunderbird or some type of two part catylized varnish.

Thanks 7 lakes, aint never used cocobolo or bocote so had no idea.Hate to give someone a bum steer!

Yes, get a coat of shellac on it, then pretty much whatever you want after that.
