1st glass bow - almost done
« on: November 07, 2012, 03:00:00 PM »
Hi All

I have finally got to the stage where I can look at this bow and smile. It's not yet complete, but hopefully by the end of the w'end I'll be shooting her. Aiming for 50#@28, she is 60, but might chop 2 off if she comes in under weight. Any suggestions on tillering?

Sorry, hope this works...

The last image is what the super glue fix looks like after I dropped the bow.

Thanks for looking...

Ja... I really like Centaurs, and as the chances of ever owning one are slim for me, I modelled it around them.     Not totally the same though.....

Sorry Jim if I've broken some rules!

The woods are African Rosewood veneer on the back and in the riser (Figured Redish). The belly is Actionboo and the tips and light dirty orangish wood in the riser is Rhodesian Teak. It will hopefully darken to a red similar to Cocobola.

This will be my first hybrid bow, to own, shoot or build. I have shot some mild R/D and built some Bamboo backed mild R/D bows. I'm not sure what to expect when I shoot it. I normally shoot an ELB.

Thanks for looking.
