It will be for me and my family and a few freinds but I have my forms heat box alot of wood and lambs. I even have a buddy that use to do it help me out as soon as I get the first glued up I will be asking alot of ?'s and need a bunch of help. I was gonna try and fix the black hawk bow I showed everybody pics of last week but have seens talked to Ken and he thinks I need to leave the bow alone and I am gonna start on some new ones. I have just ordered a string jig and a bunch of rools of D50 for some strings.I have also got into the leather parts of this stuff and really like it.

Man you're done for now. You will quickly become a bow building addict and you'll never be able to look at another piece of wood without wondering what it would look like in a riser. You'll think you've just built the perfect bow and then you'll see some different wood and you won't be happy until you build a bow with it. You'll never be satisfied with your work and will always be planning the next one.
My name is John and I'm a bow building addict. Thank God we have eachother for support through these terrible times in our lives. Oh yes, this hobby sucks.

John's right about looking at trees, limbs, boards, etc. and thinking of what they'd look like in a bow!!!
Enjoy it while it's still fun. It'll be an obsession soon.

Mike - Right here is probably your best source of information. I use to have a video tape from Bingham's for building a straight longbow when I first got into this, but I loaned it out and never got it back. I'll see if I can dig up a few build alongs that have been posted in the past and post the links here.

Mike - Here's a few links that should help with your new addiction.
A couple Hill style build alongs I did.

A reflex/deflex lonbow from Kenny

Another reflex/deflex

A couple for a one piece recurve.

http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=125;t=006323
Take down recurve
http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=125;t=008073#000000
And there's some bow builds in the "Build Alongs" section in the Trad Gang Archives. These are a few years old, but some good info there (for other things in addition to bows too).
