What I have been working on
« on: March 16, 2013, 08:14:00 PM »
I have had it in my head to do a glass sleeve wrap takedown. I finaly got around to it. First I did a dummy riser just to see if it would work for me.This project takes a lot of time. First shaping the grip then releiving wood to put the wrap on. I made two jigs-one for cutting the bow in two and another for wrapping the glass and carbon. Anyhow here are a few pics of how it turned out.

Now the real bow. About the only thing I done different on it was using the table saw to remove the wood from the sides instead of rasping by hand.

Pretty cool Mike! Got one that I broke in a mule wreck a few years back I should do that to.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

That's pretty cool! What did you use as a release agent on the bottom part?

Nice I've done a few sockets like that.  They come out nice and make for a nice travel bow.

David big jim sells it as a kit and it comes with the release agent ink carbon glass and epoxy resign.

Very nice. I always wanted to do something like that, but never had the guts to cut a well working bow in half.
