Osage and borer wasps?
« on: April 11, 2013, 01:11:00 PM »
I ran a search and didn't find much detail.  I'm gonna be cutting some osage at the bow range and don't want to lose it to the wasps before I can get them all peeled down.  I've sprayed some down with malethion in the past without much success so was wondering what has worked for you all.  Thanks Much!

I spray them and stash them in my basement, which is quite dry for a basement. Ive never had a bug problem and I leave bark on.

Every time I have not debarked and sealed my osage, I have gotten this.

Don't store it outside and you will be fine.  Don't cut more than you can either store inside or process to remove bark and sapwood.
Take a kid hunting!
