My Bubinga Eagle
« on: April 12, 2013, 03:58:00 PM »
Been in a bubinga mood for awhile.  What a terrific wood.  Here's my latest I just finished.  It's a 68" take down D strung profile.  I call it my Bubinga Eagle.  It was a little heavy so I took my file and trapped the limbs.  First try at trapping and I think it worked great.  Made my weight anyway.

I'll probably shoot this one.  It seems to shoot real nice.  My recurve is a bit heavy for a shoot and I am reworking the riser a bit to see if I can make it point better.  Although my pma wider is an absolute tack driver.

Al, tell us the story behind the burn ring on the table? LOL Wasn't bow related was it?

That table is 17 years old and I admit I have abused it some.  I honestly don't remember what the burn ring is but I am sure I was immpressed with myself when I did it.

Al, You did an awsome job on that bow. There is not one thing I do not like about it. You have a D and R that strings to a D. Simple but elegant lines,. Excellent wood and Excellent tiller. Its a killer IMHO.

God bless, Steve

Thanks for all the nice comments.  There is something about the simplicity of the design and the simple beauty of the wood that I am so satisfied with.  And as a bonus it shoots just as good as it looks.  It is without a doubt my favorite design of the bows I have made.
