My other Swap Bow
« on: June 07, 2013, 11:02:00 PM »
This is my last bow I think...  Anyway this was my PA tradbow...  I used Yew for both my trades this year. It's just easier to work with shot shoulders...

Ryan Yoon was my victum...  It's a Yew with rings so tight a diamond cutter couldn't chase one. It started with almost 1/2 inch of sap wood so I de-crowned it. It had some twist and a some deflex on one end. I used dry heat and bear fat to move it where I needed it. The bear fat also brought out the rich color of the heart wood. She is 65 55@28 with stripped Ebony tips and a Seal skin strike plate with no rest (easy to add if he so chooses). The string has Alpaca wool silencers that are probably unnecessary but I felt like it. I made up some bamboo arrows to send with the bow, two with field points and two with steel broadheads...

and the arrows...  I killed a bear with one of the broadheads and rubbed bear fat into the bow   :)
