Stackhelp for a 3pc "youth" recurve please
« on: July 31, 2013, 05:12:00 AM »
Hey folks,
I`m about do prepere lams for a customers upcoming project(s)
Shall be two nearly identical TD Recurves 25#@28";
17" Risers+ limbwedges bout 2" longer each fading 5mm or 1/5" to zero (total 4" on riseratachment+2"=6") will those wedges work- long, thick enough?
He`ll use 2x1mm/0.04" glass and 2x 0.5mm/0.02" veneer.
Blankwith is 45mm or 1 3/4" and desired bow isn`t much more narrow.
So its up to me to plan and grind the lams; 2xlamboo 1parallel and 1tapered 2mm/m or 0.2 as you`d say.
Guess it`ll be a thin line so I`d welcome all of your input!

Thanks in advance

Similar bows shown with stack specs would be a great help as well...

What length finished bow?

I like longer wedges, I don't like the hingey look at end of riser or wedges...

BJansen had a program to figure different stacks, but I'm not enough of a computer guy to help you with it....
Stay sharp, Kenny.

You might look at Binghams Projects, I think they have a youth recurve bow and should be able to help out.
