ILF measurement
« on: September 05, 2013, 09:11:00 PM »
I bought a set of ILF hardware and was given these instructions for the measurement between the center of the limb bolt and the dovetail slot that goes in the riser(The distance from the center of the limb bolt hole to the proximal radius of the dovetail slot is .209") I know what .209 is but where is the proximal radius?   ]photobucket[/URL]

Proximal means near to. In this case what they mean is .209" from the center of the limb bolt to curved portion (i.e. radius) of the dovetail slot at it's closest point to the limb bolt.

Basically from the limb bolt center to the rounded edge of the dovetail slot on that aluminum piece.

.209 is less than a 1/4" Ben.

Oh good catch ... well certainly can't explain that one. For some reason I was thinking 2.209".

After rereading it seems liek mayeb they mean .209 from the center of the limb bolt to the most inset portion of the slot cut into the riser ... that even seems like not enough space.

I think the whole drilled for the l,imb bolt insert is usually around 27/64" which is near 1/2" so I don't see how the slot cut in the riser can be only .209" from the center of the limb bolt. The limb bolt insert and slot in the riser would be almost in contact ... or mayb even in contact ...
