....reduce draw weight...
« on: November 23, 2013, 12:05:00 PM »
Hi.. I'm stuck on how to reduce bow weight on one piece recurve ( Binghams alternate riser)design.    :knothead:
Now it is around 60# at 18"...  way to stong...  riser is 24" long... and 22" limbs... I don't want to make limbs more narrow than they are now...  what do you suggest? is there any other way?  sanding limbs ( fiberglass )?

thx      :notworthy:

Sanding the glass will work but it is a slow process.
You'll want to keep track of sanding strokes to keep it even.

Yes.. it will be very long process...  but last think that I want to do is sanding fglass... I found that trapping the back of bow will reduce weight... I'll try that..  thx

It sounds like you need a lot removed. I know you don't want to reduce the width but just trapping on a recurve may not do it.
