super glue gel

Where can I get super glue gel in a bigger bottle?
The one's at lowes wont do much.

Hobby lobby has CA thin med and gel I believe in 3 oz bottles
Satellite city also has 2oz bottles which is what I use, local hardwood store carries it.

You can order CA glue in various viscosities for modeling purposes etc.

I forget what some of the brands are, but you should be able to get good size bottles of thick CA. I'd just order it online personally unless you have ahobby shop on or near your typical flight path.

I would go to 5 min epoxy. I have used gel for tips and have had them pop off at the Wong time. Lucky bows never got damaged but epoxy holds so much better.

Just leave the top off the thin super glue and it becomes gel. Don't ask how I know. d;^)

While epoxy especially smooth on is a great choice.
I've been using the super glue since visiting Earl and Ann Hoyt just before Earl died. They used super glue on all their tip overlays.
Given circumstances any glue up can fail.

macbow you ever used G-2 for bows..? I heard that you can use it in place of Smooth on and without using the heat box.
What's you take on it..?

I haven't used the G2 .
Since I only make wood bows I've pretty much stuck with unibond 800.      It doesn't need a hot box as long as the temp is 70 or above.
I use a couple of light bulbs and cover it with a sleeping bag during cold weather.

You don't need a hot box for smooth on, it will cure in 24 hours at 70 degrees.

Do bowyers use the hot box just for safety sakes incase the bow is exposed to extreme high temps..?
Here on the Pacific North coast it may reach 92 degrees the odd day, but then again if its my bow I will not leave it in direct sunlight.
On another note it cools off during hunting season.
