BTC, With one of Wingnut's glue-ups all you will need is a scraper and maybe a rasp. After a little hand sanding at the end and you are good to go.   Pat

All I want to see is pictures. Before, during and after. I love the Osage, I relish the Yew, but really something about that Boo.

The new TBB4 has a build along that we did on a multilam bamboo backed bow.  I think it would be real helpful in getting started.

I would go ahead and invest in Dean Torges' DVD "Hunting the Bamboo Backed Bow".   www.bowyersedge.com

Here is a buildalong of a benefit bow done a couple years ago.  It's done with a yew belly but the process is the same:    St. Judes BBY Buildalong

Here's a buildalong I did in 2002 after Dean's video came out, basically following his process:    Hunting a Bamboo Backed Osage Following Dean Torges\\' Video

Have fun.  They are awesome bows.

If you get one of Mike's kits, go ahead and get the DVD with it. It will walk you through the process.

I'll second the Torges video suggestion as well.

blacktailchaser, all you really need in the way of tools is a couple of rasps and a scraper, (and a knife could be used for that)...agree on the torges video, but you'll need a couple of books to get an idea about tillering.

good thing is that you can get some cheap Red oak 2X1" and that will aloud you to mess up a couple of bows in the learning process without killing your wallet, 3Rivers now sells already prepped bamboo

Bandsaw is handy. Other tools include a rasp, hand plane, scrapper, spring clamps and sandpaper.

Hey John,

Well, I'm a little south of Eugene.  Give me a holler if I can help you.
