I just set my tree up with the draw length lines measured from the back of the handle where the draw length is measured from. That way I don't have to add or subtract, never was any good at that..

So you using a sliding ruler of some sort or some other method of making it adjustable?  Or do you just always make the same thickness handle?

Handle is always the same design.

I have a few lengths of that same wood. I had no idea what it was. All I knew was that it was very hard. Now I know.

 I did cut up a couple of logs for lams in my glass bows. That wood is very flexible. I can bend 1/4x1.5x3 foot long slats till the ends touch with no problem at all.
Good luck with your build, it will be interesting to see how this wood performs.

I measure from the back. I see no reason to change. I don't make FG bows.

I just put down a strip of duct tape and measure off ad mark the inches on it.
