The topic of Swing Jigs revisited

I started a thread sometime about a year and a half ago on the topic of a swing jig. I built one but yet have been able to get it to work correctly.

When getting it all set up for a 27 inch radius which Kenny M's form call for do you measure it from the blade and add the thickness of the riser in with your calculations. Or is it set up differently. Right now I cut it by hand and boy does it take quite a bit of time to sand by hand and get it light tight and ready to glue up.

I need to make up time so that I can get my swap bow out on time since my plan A did not work out. Any advice on this topic would be really appreciated along with pictures of your setup and how you do it.

The 27" should be from the pivot pin to the blade.

The back of the riser should also be very near the blade when clamped in, so the block you clamp the riser against will need to be 2" from the blade. You can adjust the riser out a bit from the block for a bit narrower riser....
