Inserts for quiver in longbow riser
« on: May 14, 2014, 04:56:00 PM »
Guys I have a thunderstick III and am trying to determine quivers.  I was wondering if it is safe to put in inserts for a sige mount great northern quiver?

Thanks

Shouldnt be a problem, especially on a 3 piece riser. On a one piece, I would be careful not to get too close to the fades/taper and make sure there is enough beef in the riser section.

I've added them a few times with no problems, make sure you have 5/8 thick or greater material in the fade and you'll be good. I prefer the bear style over the style with the shoulder and when you press them in they stay put. Make sure your pilot hole is deep enough or the quiver bolt will bottom out and probably tear or split the wood when it starts backing out the insert.
