Heat Box or Heat Strips
« on: June 25, 2014, 11:37:00 PM »
I have build one bow before and used a heat box, but have heard good things about heat strips.  So, given the opportunity, would you use heat strips or a heat box?

I have a guy who has built bows for years and is trying to get out of it and has a thickness sander and forms with heat strips on then he is wanting to sell me.

If it's a good deal, I'd say go for it.  I'd say there's more potential for temperature control with the strips, but the box is relatively cheap and reliable, though takes up a lot of space.
